bambi

afternoon in a&e yesterday after I collapsed in a big heap in the front room. Fortunately Keeley & mum were there to catch me and ring the ambulance. All was fine. just got up a bit quick! My blood pressure is low at the min because of weightloss etc and that in combination with all of the other stuff meant I went over like Bambi.
Saw consultant this morning who confirmed there was nothing to worry about, and that the recovery process although painfully (literally) slow, was on course. Got to start getting more food down my neck hole, which will boost my bp, well being and generally speed the recovery up. so everything is on course.
no sleep at all last night which doesn't help at all bit a new morphine patch on this morning which will help for a couple of days.

potato

suffice to say, dear friends, that when they said things would get worse before they got better they weren't joking. Had a rough couple of days and nights to say the least. I'm in good hands though. will report back intermittently with progress reports.

moz

in the words of the great Mozzer'Stop me if you've heard this one before', but I have just been awoken by some very loud snoring from next door and not feeling very well at all. It's 1.30am!!!
Those of you who are regular viewers will remember the time I was in ward 201 and was kept awake by a force 9 gale from the next bed snoring his way in to the record books whilst I was feeling a bit grim in the next bed, not sleeping and wanting it all to be over so that I could get better and get on with our lives.
That was in feb/march and tonight on the 21 of May I am being kept awake by our delightful, large nostrilled neighbour, in between boughts of feeling sickie and crap in general.
What's that? I hear you say. I thought our brave hero had finished his treatment and was on his way to a speedy recovery.
Well I have, and I am, but the effects of being lasered through my neck, mouth and throat for the last month will continue for another couple of weeks before I start to pull out on the other side.
In other words the 'sunburn'I have on my neck and face, the blisters, thrush and ulcers in my mouth, the *stringy bits at the back of my tongue and throat, the mucusitis, the weight loss and generally being sick and indeed tired are here to stay for a while.
I now have super strong 72 hour morphine patches which are helping pain wise, but the biggest pain is the mucus which unless you get rid(spit it out), causes you to be sick, which is fine, if a little uncouth, in the day, but at night is a problem.

Anyway the last treatment yesterday went fine, I've attached a couple of pictures of the tremendous people down on LA 3 which also show a bit of the machine which did the dirty deed. Special mention to Hardeep who managed to avoid getting his picture taken.

The dreaded LA3 sign by the door which announced if they were running late or not.

Me and LA3

*for those of us old enough to remember old style, cooked on the premesis, school meals, we remember what they made for pud when they hadrun out of ingredients. Yes, cornflake tart with scalding hot jam. This consisted of a pastry base filled with cornflakes and topped with a layer of delicious strawberry jam
Delicious? Maybe. Scalding hot? Very much so. By the time them bad boys came out of the oven the jam must have been a million degrees, thus rendering the rooves of the mouths of all of the poor kids partaking, ruined. It was this ruination to the tongue, the roof and the throat and the killing of the skin producing dangly, dead bits , that I am likening to my current oral affectations.

funk

Today, due to my super duper strength morphine patches, my brain is in a mushy, funky, fog. It has taken me half an hour to type to this.
